In this PD Quarterly article, I share ideas for how leaders can better understand - and work across - cognitive difference. To lead and collaborate effectively, people must effectively bridge common gaps in how people tend to gather and process information, communicate, and make decisions. Leaders should also aspire to recognize common forms of cognitive bias that can get in the way of teamwork and problem-solving, especially as these can be amplified when when the impact of different thinking styles isn’t taken into account.
